How are these numbers for the first time at the track?

Like the title says it was my first time to ever run a car. The temp was about 83 degrees at night and about 50% humidity. I made about 12 runs and was absolutly amazed on how much temp affects these cars. I raced from 6pm till 11pm and the #s kept getting better as the temp went down. My best was

14.1811 1/4 mile time
0.7529 Reaction time
2.28 60 ft
9.2085 1/8 mile time
102.16 1/4 mile mph

My mods are CB, DP, Apexi intake, and PFC. I know the car should do these times stock but I don't think its to bad for my first time.

You need some stickier tires.

The first time is always the best

Work on your 60' time and your times will drop dramatically...your car has mods that should put it deep into the 13s. A stock car is more than capable of posting quicker E/Ts than 14.1x.

Is there any correction factor from elevation for that particular track?

Im not sure. It is right outside of San Antonio so I don't think there is much elevation.

bad 60' time..thats the reason.
Temps are huge. i dont have hard data but i could tell you that there is a huge difference between intake temps above 55 vs them being around 35. I would guess 20-25 rwhp. What were your intake temps as measured by the power fc?

i have a feeling I was doing realy poorly at launches. Most of the time I was getting wheel hop. So I think I was lining up, getting anxious and just popping the clutch.

I was launching at around 3000-3500. Was that you rogu3 that I saw down on military after game 6? There was a red fd down there with strobe lights in the blinkers. I have a silver touring that has been up at Alamo rotary a few times. It used to have a black fron end because it had been in an accident. Its now all silver. I would meet up sometime with you guys but I am moving up to michigan in a week.

umm...et means nothing in reality. All it tells you is how quickly YOU can drive the car. Look at trap speeds. That tells you how much power the car is making and how fast it really is. With you mods plus a mp i was trapping 110-111 mph. What boost are you running. If it was only 10psi then the 102 mph trap is ok. But at 12psi it sounds alittle low.

im staying at 11 psi. But if your 60' times are bad wouldn't that leave you less track to gain speed? I guess its not that much room.

see thats high. try ice'ing the ic and intake manifold..get down to about 30 C then pull into the pits. Also, if its hot out at 85 degrees dont count on perfect runs.

Ill have to try icing. There was another older gentleman there with a red FD that had something like a t-66. He was icing down his car but I was to anxious, I just wanted to get beck in line. Also this is a dumb question, but would the pits be while you are waiting in line to run, or just sitting on the side. It doesnt make sense to sit, icing, then start the car to get into line because the car warms back up.

i ran 13.5@101mph in 95 degree heat with no icing of the intercooler or intake and a measly 8 psi of boost! also my 60' was 1.9 on street tires. i ran about 12-14 psi in the tires and did a burnout. 60' is the key to running 13's stock.

Wow. Thats all the pressure you run in the tires? I lowerd them to 25psi, but lower I thought they would heat up to much.

good for you...i was just making some suggetions as to how he could improve his et. Are you insinuating that heat and intake temps dont effect performance?
