I'm 25.767 years old, and a mechanical engineer for a nuclear power company. My first rx7 (88 se, automatic, super slow) was given to me by my soccer coach when I was 15 after my 86 300zx was totalled. After the coolant seals failed on that (had less than 50k miles on it and I gave it to a junkyard :/... ) my Mom helped me pick up a TII 2 years later and have been driving that until this year where I sold my M3 to buy my dream 94, 51k mile FD...which so happened to have the coolant seals fail too .

You are so correct on this. I pull and install my own motors. I know the rats nest like the back of my hands. I have installed 2 clutches, 4 sets of coil overs, 3 sets of suspension, 4 fuel pumps, roll bar, 3 turbos ... I could have paid someone to do it but for some sadistic reason, I like doing it myself.

There is a form of reward knowing that very few people on the planet who can do this. The thing too is that if you screw up, it's cheap to fix things (engine $4000, transmission $500, turbos $1500). Try that on a Ferrari 360 F1, the hydraulic pump for the transmission is $10,000. Just for the pump.

Ha this thread. I dont even remember if I replied to it before.

40 and work from home IT tech support.

I've had my 93 FD since like 96 or 97. I graduated HS in 92, so a brand new $40k car wasn't exactly going to happen.

Havent spent much on her past few years as the house has been needing love. She has about 91k miles.

I'm 27, I have only owned my RX7 for about 7 months but have owned MANY other cars including what in my signature and 24 other cars. This one is by far my favorite!

My goal is to be like purerx7 some day of course! :-) An LP640 or Aventador would be AMAZING!

haha...thanks Fritz. Here is the timeline of my cars over the past few years:

FD...first car and had for 5 years

Viper (had for roughly 10 months)

Gallardo (had for 3 months, hated it)

LP640 (Absolutely love, won't be going anywhere anytime soon)

I didn't grow up with much, so it is nice to be able to enjoy and appreciate all of my hard work. No new cars for awhile, maybe besides trading my 2012 XJL in next year for a 991 or Ghost, we will see how my relocation to LA goes.

I'm 26 Years old work for the Army as an IT Specialist. I have owned 6 Fd's and worked on probably closed to 40 Rx-7s. I was born in a Rotary family so my dad has been racing wankel engines since the early 90's. I bought my first rx-7 when I was 15.

Purerx7 if your looking to adopt any kids I would be a perfect condidate. I Always told myself I would own a lamborgini one day. Very nice!

That LP640 is absolutely amazing! I am in the same boat with you, I drove a Gallardo and was not impressed at all! My dream would be a LP640-4 SV in Orange.

50 years old (...).
I have had the FD for 7 years and 8 months.
Thewird has it now and will be doing a rebuild soon.
Engine was still running, dumped oil... We'll see exactly what is going on soon.
I love this car and will never part from it. At the cost of keeping it parked in my garage.

ON

I'm 47, a Construction Site superintendent and have had my FD for the past 12 years, replaced my Ex-wife with it and absolutely no regrets , like all of you on here I've dumped a lot of money in it over the years and don't ever plan on parting with it.
