Question How much oil do I need?

I'm about to change the oil for my first time on my FD, but I'm not too sure how much oil I should use. I'm pretty sure it's 4 quarts, but I don't want to get it wrong. Also, any tips will be greatly appreciated.

IIRC I use about 5.

There is a difference in listed oil capacity and the oil you will drain during a change. Some oil stays in the oil cooler(s) that you won't be able to drain. I think for the R1/R2 models capacity is listed as 6qts, but you will only change 5 qts.

To be perfectly safe, just go with the full line on the dipstick.

R1's might take 5, not sure. Non-R1's take about 4.

A girl who changes her own oil is damn cool! Do you also do your own upgrades and repairs on your car(s)?

Oh yeah, my '93 touring took four quarts.

I just use about 3 1/2 - 4. Just like what turbojeff said fill it up till you get the F on the dipstick. What kind of oil are you using?

Thanks for all the help. I ended up getting Mobil 10w 30. I raised the car today, however, it was on the driver's side. I never completed the task today, it was getting too dark. I guess I will try to see if the ramps that they sell at Pep Boys works on the FD.

The black fiber ramps they sell at PepBoys will work if you don't have a R1 spoiler or aren't lowered. With a spoiler it will hit the ramps and you will need to use a jack...
