I don't think anyone with any brains will argue that conventional oil lubricates as well as synthetic oil. While most of our engines fail from lost seals, what is left to work with is still very important. Using synthetic oil will give you a much better chance of having reusable engine parts. No one wants to have to buy new rotors and housings when doing a rebuild.

More importantly, synthetic oil is much better for our turbos. Higher resistance to heat, and better cooling will definitely extend the life of the turbos.

Perhaps you should take the money you will be throwing away to replace your turbos prematurely, and start using synthetic oil .......... its very cheap in the big picture

I have been very happy with Mobil Syn 15W50

I change it before every track day... which usually turns out to be every 2000 miles or so. I know for a fact it helps oil temps at the track. From extensive previous personal experience with other turbocharged cars I can also tell you that turbocharger life is greatly extended with sythetic oil in many cases.

M1 or RP 10W30 all year... I don't drive it in the winter though, just around the block once a month when the streets are clean to warm it up.
