if you have a montego blue and planning on painting your car please let me know first. i will give you full price for a brand new unpainted passenger front fender $240.00 from the dealership. i was in an accident and dont want to have a new fender re-painted. so if you are planning on this i will send money asap thanks you. i just dont think it will ever match right.

What won't match is getting a used fender and trying to have that match your car.

The used fender could have been repainted, subjected to different environmental conditions than yours, etc.

Even two cars painted the same color at the factory on different days might not be *exactly* the same color.

Just FYI.

And, if you take the fender to a paint shop, they can color-match the paint to your car and paint JUST the fender. It would probably be VERY cheap for a body shop to paint just the fender for you to bolt it on.

And then the person who sends you their fender would have to order a new one from mazda at the same price. Thus no gain for them going through the trouble of sending you their fender.

Good luck on that one...

Getting an already montego blue fender will have even more problems with color matching. I'd talk to some other body shops - someone should be able to repaint the fender with a close match to the paint that's already on the car.

It's very likely it won't be 100% match due to the complexities of Montego Blue, but at least it will look 90%. The only way for a perfect match is to repaint the whole car.

not exactly true, they wont have to strip and primer the fender they already have which would save money and i of course would pay for shipping. Oh and this would be just one of those things where someone would be helping someone else out. thats what some of us are here for, well at least thats what i thought maybe i'm wrong.

good luck with that. There are variations within ever paint code between one and as many as six. even the same variation can be significantly diffrent on cars. The shop is covering themself by saying the have to blend. I you choose not to you no longer have a leg to stand on if you complain.

I tend to agree with what's been said about paint variations. But I'm going to paint my car and since my fender isn't bolted all the way on anyway, I'd probably be willing to do this for you. I'd need to make sure I can find a fender at the dealer first, and also do you need the vent as well? I had a heck of a time finding the one I've got and I don't want to give it up. I'd need to know I can replace the fender and vent without cost to me.

PM me if you still want to work on this.
