How many MPG do you guys get?
I've driving about 300 miles on my rebuild now and have shitty gas mileage.
I admit the first tank I was quite heavy on the throttle but now I'm on my second tank and I'm hardly even boosting at all. I keep the rpm's real low like less than 4000 rpm. And sometimes if I do get on boost on accident I check my boost gauge and it only goes to like 5 psi.
Anyways, my gas meter just hit halfway and I've got about 150 miles on it. Is that normal?
I thought the FD got like 18 city/23 hwy or something? I'm probably gonna get like 10-15 mpg average.
BTW, I have a street port and idle vacuum is 14 in. I have Apex intakes and that's it. My second turbo isn't working but I have a manual boost controller set to 10 psi on the first turbo.

you shouldn't be heavy on the throttle right after you get a rebuild... break in period is 500-1000 miles
but your mileage is normal, plus i would assume that it would be less than your first engine considering this one has a street port

Actually, I vary my throttle and don't get above 4500 rpm. Sorry, I didn't mean heavy as in WOT. But varying the throttle is appropriate to break-in the rebuild properly.
Also, I bought this not running so I have no idea what kind of mileage is normal. So you're telling me 15 mpg average is normal! Damn that sucks! I'm gonna be broke just from driving this thing! =(

here in san francisco i get about 6-9 mpg
*hills and stop signs are not an FD's friend, or my wallet's*
i'd be extremely happy if i had double digit city mileage
highway is probably about 15-18 mpg

Ok, since gas in the bay area went nuts, to 2.47 per gallon I started driving very reserved. If I run 2500 rpm to 3000 and always shift prior to 3K, keep steady gas I get 18.5 city. On the highway to reno I get 24-25, thats steady on the gas.
while I get 18 or so city, I take the highway to work and have no stop and go. You can get good gas mileage if you are not too rev-happy.

what's the point of having an fd you are not even boosting at those rpms...get a honda to commute with.. my civic get at least 25-30 mpg..my fd around 15if that.

I've been averaging about 16-18 mpg getting to and from work (about 25 miles one way 75% highway 25% local)... If it's either city driving or stop and go, the car gets closer to 13 mpg...

if you got 150 in the first half then your on track to get 300miles out of a tank which is about 16mpg......thats not bad at all for city.
On the highway I get about 20mpg with my cruise set on 85mph. Around town I only get about 12mpg but I tend to see 18psi of boost a handfull of times a day so thats really hurting my fuel economy haha
Oh yea, I guess I should mention I've got a Walbro pump, 850/1200 injectors, and didnt tune under 4000rpms lol

the way i drive, i get about 10 mpg in the city, but i always push my car to limits when i drive, i also let my car warm up for a but 5 min before i take it out and cool down (even though it accually heats up at idle) for about 2 min after i drive it. When i bought the car i drove for 12 hours to get it home with only using WOT once, to see what it could do and almost never kicked in the turbos, i recieved almost 25 mpg. also i use 93 or 94 octane only in my car.

I usually get about 240 miles before my gas light goes on. That's with city/highway driving. I don't think it's that bad. Probably the same mpg as an SUV. I'd rather be driving my FD than an SUV. Plus, the gas price has dropped around my area. It's only $1.79 gallon for premium.
