how does my second turbo look?

I took a few things out to take a look at my turbo and found that the turbo is a little damaged maybe from a rock? Is this normal or really bad. I get about 8 or 9 psi from the second turbo. What do you guys think? Oh yeah these are 87k old.

It looks dirty

See if you can bend it back.

I think thats the primary turbo... I could be wrong, though. Anyway, those impellers are precision balanced since they spin at like 150K rpm, or something like that. It probably won't last much longer like that. But thats just an educated guess, since I don't have a whole lot of turbo expertise.

For starters, that is your primary turbo. Holy jeez! That looks horrible. I would certainly be looking into a rebuild soon, or even better new turbos. Zoinks.

Dude, get the turbos rebuilt before you lunch the motor. That turbo definetly ate something, it might last a long time and it might not. I wouldn't risk the motor.

I've got to agree...........That turbo is toast, sounds like a good reason to get some high flow twins to me.

I guess I don't know my primary from the secondary so the primary is closest to the front of the car is what you guys are saying? Thanks for the input I would suggest others do the same and check your turbos out.

How hard is it to get to the turbos? I've been having secondary problems (the one towards the back) but have been nervous about pulling everything off to get to it...

That is the primary (closest to the front of the car). You can peek into the secondary from under the car without removing too much stuff. Just remove the aluminum intake piping (two nuts on secondary turbo inlet -- easiest to get to from under the car). You might have to undo more stuff to peer into the secndary inlet, but I don't think it is a major undertaking.

Are you running an air filter? Your primary looks terrible.
