Easy. Remove the four bolts to the rear of the shaft where it connects to the diff. The front just slips out the back of the tranny. Drain the tranny or you'll get grease everywhere when you pull the shaft.

Now that he has solved his problem, I'am hijacking this thread. Does anybody use the carbon drive shafts? I know they sell them for FD's.

What is the weight difference b/w the stock and the carbon fiber? The stock driveshaft is pretty damn light.

Yep. I don't see the advantage of the carbon fiber one? Even if it is lighter the inertia is so low anyway I wouldn't expect an improvment worth the money.

They sell them on rx7.com, it says it is 900 some-odd $ and it weighs 10.8 lbs, though I don't know what the stocker weighs. If there is a big difference you might see some improvement due to reducing rotational masses, but personally I think it would just be cool to have a CF driveshaft !

hope some of that helps

There have been many threads on this and it was deemed not to be worth spending money on for the little improvment it gives. Me personally I would invest that 1k somewhere else before a CF driveshaft..

The stock one is light as hell anyways..

When taking out the driveshaft you will have to remove the midpipe (cat) and you might have to remove the PPF.
