Hot Rods
Is my brother’s V8 FC a “Hot Rod” – yes. Is my brother’s souped up FD auto a “Hot Rod” – no. Is my brother’s “66 Dodge Hemi a “Hot Rod” – no. Is my souped up FD single turbo a “Hot Rod” – no. Is JIMLAB V8 monster a “Hot Rod” – yes.
Are “Hot Rods” a good thing – yes. My favorite film is “American Graffitee”. Falfa got beat in his souped up “57 Chev by a “30s Ford coupe with a Chev V8. Hot rodding at it’s best. I know of two “Hot Rodders” on the forum (Twint78” and “Jimlab”).
Are there more?

Actually, Falfa (Harrison Ford) was winning when he lost control of the car and rolled it off the road into a field with Laurie (Cindy Williams) in the car.
Trivia: Falfa's black 1955 Chevy was one of three 1955 Chevy 150 sedans built for the 1971 movie Two-Lane Blacktop. One car was refurbished and painted black to be Falfa's "driver", while the stunt car (which was never used as intended in Two-Lane) was also painted black and used in the final roll-over scene of American Graffiti. That car had a full roll cage and independent right and left braking systems to induce a roll. Both cars were equipped with 1970 Chevrolet 454 big block crate engines.
Trivia: John Milner's (Paul Le Mat) "**** yellow" '32 Ford Deuce coupe was powered by a small block Chevy, which can be identified by the valve cover bolt pattern in the second picture below. The strange looking intake manifold is a Man-A-Fre "four twos" (four two-barrel carburetors) with Rochester 2g carburetors. The third picture shows a cleaner version (in a different car) with better detail.

My dad has a '33 ford pickup (chopped, channeled, Z'd and rolls on a modified Model A frame with 12 bolt posi rear and I-beam front axle) built basically from a cab he bought for $30.00 way back when with a 307 sbc, and a '34 ford 5 window coupe project car in the garage so I guess he might be considered a "hot rodder" but no he's not on the forum...

Maybe this thread belong's in the "Lounge".
Ya, JIMLAB is right again. Milner was behind when Falfa's "55 Chev went out of control.
Makes no difference to me. I still love "Hot Rods".
