hose question

ok, i did the auto to manual swap, im doing the few vacuum hose changes, in the attachment, i have 2 problems/questions:

i have them labeled 1. and 2.

1. i have disconnected this hose from the check valve above it in the hose diagram, but in the picture, i have in the red box, is that a check valve, or some just to plug up the hose, in the end of the hose i disconnected?

2. i took the hose off the nipple in the red box, and put a cap on the nipple, what should i do with the hose i took off the nipple? just plug it? leave it open?

thanks

#1 is not a check valve, its just a tinly plastic filter end to the hose.

#2 ... where is the hose leading too? another solenoid?

Don't use that diagram. Use this one.

You can leave it open, but dust and debris will clog up the solenoid and cause it to fail.

The picture shows a zoom of a vacuum junction. There is a cap on the junction that is only used by California models (emmissions).
