Hood and A/C panel

How the hell do you get these off? I found a coupel threads that were 2-3 years old but were less than helpful. I don't need the entire cluster out, I just want the hood and ac gauge panels out so I can finish my plasti dip project. Is there more to it than just removing the panel around the steering column and a few screws here and there? That is about all the info I could find while searching.

I just don't want to go off of someone's half baked thoughts on this and break my damn panels.

Awesome, thank you. Funny, I was searching close to the time that was posted...no wonder I didn't find anything

Uh, question. Got the hood/guage cluster out, but I can't get the damn ac surround panel off. I removed all 4 screws that hold it in place, the clips are out, but something is holding it in place. Is it all the wiring that leads to the ac controls because it will only come out like an inch at best and just stops, and there is no reason to pull because it isn't the clips holding it back.

I just need the panel off and I can finish my project. Did I miss something (obviously )

Mine came out just fine. The wiring to the dash dimmer control may be a little tight, or the stereo wiring could be hanging up on the wiring. Has it popped loose, just won't come out far enough to get your hand behind it to unplug stuff?

Yeah, it's popped loose, but not very much. I was assuming the wiring was tight as from what I can see it isn't hanging up on anything.

I'm sure I could get my hand back there, but what exactly am I feeling for and how many? Are they like the clips for the cluster where I have to pinch both sides for the wiring harness, or how is it setup back there?

Nevermind, I got it. The wires were hung up on eachother and wouldn't let me pull them out. I actually couldn't get my hand back there, but I was able to twist it in a way that they were able to untangle themselves.

Thanks though.
