You are not missing anything. You can remove the hoses and plug them. You might as well remove the air pump. Those hoses are for it.
And by the way, where do you live in Hawaii? I love going there and have been several times.

Do not plug those hoses. They are vented for a reason. The CRV hose on the top vents boost from the secondary turbo before transition. They are fine left open, they just make more noise when they are vented to atmosphere, but I would not cap them off.

If you are still on factory ECM and factory main cat dont remove the air pump. Lots of information in old threads that talk about air pump removal on this forum.

Nice to see an FD in Hawaii though, that has to be a rare site. I'll be out there later this year.

Open intakes aren’t really optimal.

But a bigger issue is a missing intercooler duct. Right now the hot air from the radiator is feeding the IC…which is a bit dangerous to the engine.
Looks like someone has done some rewiring….maybe for what looks like non-stock fans. That may have something to do with the missing IC duct.
And the fine adjustment for the alternator belt is missing.

yes, the intercooler duct and the crossover thing.

if you scroll down a bit, hose 9 goes from the air pump to the stock duct. hose 10 is the vent, so it goes to a silencer and then the stock hose, which goes nowhere

Both of the open hoses are for the air pump and ACV. They have nothing to do with boost control.

Who said anything about boost control?

Top line, third sentence.

You know, I don't think we are talking about the same thing lol

I was looking at the wrong hose but what I have seen in the past with the CRV. people mistake it for another BOV at times too.

CRV = charge relief valve. Vents the secondary turbo back into the airbox (or atmosphere if removed from airbox) during prespool just before it joins the primary at transition. It's not boost control but if you plug it, the secondary boost pressure has nowhere to go and will most likely result in some type of surging possibly damaging the secondary turbo or affecting proper sequential operation at minimum.

Personally I wouldn’t remove the AP until he does a little research/searching and gets one of the idler pulleys to replace it. Those open hoses would bug me, but there are some (unrelated) important things missing and imo there’s bigger fish to fry under the hood.
