Hi-flow Cats
I'm looking to replace my midpipe with a hi-flow cat.
Any recommendations? I'm looking at the RE-A one on rhd. But I need one that will definitely work without the airpump.
Sorry if this has allready been covered...I can find plenty of threads on cats, but not on ones compatable with the air pump deleted.
Cheers
Tom.

I have a Bonez on mine and will be removing the airpump as soon as I get the airpump idler pulley kit from the group buy here on the forum. I was talking with mrb63083 who ran that setup for quite some time with no problems.

What he said. The cat with traditional cores require the air injection at that precise location to work properly. Not adding that extra air often results in decreased life.
The high flow cats using 'metal' based cores do not require the air injection.
There is a thread that I posted in a couple of years ago that has a lot of this info if someone cares to research it.

Would you recommend a Bonez? My only concern it that it seems a lot cheaper that the ones on rhd...

. it did for me at least.on topic... ran a bonez hi-flo for about a week... then returned it to my cousin. i liked it. none of the stinkiness or smoke like my newly installed res mp. the HF is rather loud in comparison.. but its nice loud(low/deep growl). i didnt expect my res mp+apexi gt to be quieter than stock+gt/bonez+gt. if i had time+money to do it all over again i'd go with bonez

actually it just calls for a better sound system or an excuse to spend more money on the FD
