Thumbs down FD woes (posible Flood)

So i got my car from chicago yesterday. well while i was warming up the neighbors came out and bitched at me and my room mates about our cars being to loud. So in the middle of warm up the car died because im still on a base tune and i have to baby sit the car. well i went to crank it back up and it sounds like it was on 1 rotors and wouldn't re-start so i pulled the plugs one and only the plugs where soaked. turned the car over with out the Fuel pump fuse in and let it sit for about 20 mins came back and repeated. now i haven't attempeted to start the car again becuase im at work but i wanted to make sure i had it all done i even replaced the plugs at lunch just to make sure. so asuming that i did everything right the car should crank right up right ?. i don't even want to even come close to thinking about a compression test i only have 450 miles on this motor and haven't even had the pleasures of touching 8k yet or even seeing a Lb of boost. is there anything else i should check also labeled the plug wires 1234 and all the damn marker got rubbed off i think i can remember what plug goes where but some help would be much appreciated

Thanks

Should be fine, I did the same thing earlier this week. New plugs, letting it sit, and a few cranks without the EGI fuse usually gets you started again.

Or just hold the throttle wide open while you crank it.....seriously. There is no need to pull the plugs or fuses.

Ignition system schematic

Here's a photo of an ignition system schematic in case you need to see it to make sure the plugs and wires are placed correctly.

Buy new plugs, if they are fouled once they wont be right again. The car may run, but not as it should. Plugs are cheap, $24.00 a set.

same thing happened to me just last weekend, car won't crank over, pulled the plugs and it was soaked. Light the plugs with a lighter to dry the plugs, start the car holding throttle wide open and car started beautifully.

yea i bet your just running a little rich with the base tune so its dying out on start-up (cold start = rich). New plugs and you should start up no problems, but you might have to help the idle a bit on cold start, keep the revs up just a tad to help burn up the extra fuel.

You could crank without the egi fuse before if you want to be completely sure, but you should be fine if you are putting in brand new DRY plugs.

Besides that, how's it feel to have the car running?

Did you get the car running, or are you going to leave everyone hanging?

well it took me a day. when i flooded it was just after ever autozone or whatever had closed so i got the plugs out poped out the fuel pump relay cranked it for about 15secs let it rest for about 20mins repeated. i tried to ghetto rig the fouled plugs by torching them to get some of the carbon build up and try to burn some of the fuel off but that didn't work so i just picked up new plugs the next day it started right up. Ran like crap and smoked like crazy for a 15secs but the car ran great once i let her warm up and took her down the street. my neighbor was so pissed that it was driving she glared at me as i drove by her house so i waved.

The last place I lived the day I moved in I drove one of the fds over there and the neighbor complained about the noise first thing. So the next day I brought another one over with a N1 dual tip catback on it and he came storming out the house. I just laughed and told him if he kept complaining they would just keep getting louder as they showed up. I never heard another complaint. Little did he know it doesnt get any louder than the N1 Dual Tip
