I seem to recall a turbo troubleshooting section in the Factory Service Manual. I also recall seeing a trouble shooting section for boost issues on an individuals website but don't remember which. Try Google.

Or if you are like me, I am taking my FD to a rotary mechanic on Monday to see why my secondary boost fades as RPM increases. My boost pattern is 11-8-9 then gradually drops as RPM increases. I'm too stupid to find the problem let alone fix it.

Good luck. Post back if you have specific questions which aren't covered in the guide. There are a lot of experienced members around here who will definitely lend a hand.

thanks a million. will do. up until the boost issue i had great boost pattern 10-8-10 with a spike 11.5 around there. the secondary transition was exactly on the money 4500rpm. so i know that nothing major was faulting prior to this issue. How interesting is this, i can already see my weekend playing out.

Saturday is are monthly meet here in San Diego. I will also ask other members and see what i need to check that i have over looked. wow how fun!!!

Well, the trouble shooting guide that Mahjik pointed out has a section on troubleshooting the secondary turbo. Now that your primary seems to be working well, that would be the next step. Make sure though that the primary checks out completely or you may be chasing your tail trying to find a problem in the secondary. I don't understand these things well, but I believe that since the secondary users the boost from the primary to spool up, you need to make the primary is 100% first.

Good luck. I'm taking my FD to the mechanic on Monday morning.

Well other people are going to chime in about vacuum hoses and solenoids. So I will leave that work up to them. What I will contribute is this:

I have highlighted the area of interest. Make sure that a C clip is still on there and that linkage is attached. Note it may look attached so wiggle it to make sure. You can acces it from under the car rather easily. Passenger side, right under the airpump, can't miss it.

If that linkage is not connected. You will only boost about 3-5 psi. I speak from experience.

montego----- thanks for the info. the part was checked and looked over last night when i checked all the linkage and changed out the vac lines.
now i have the primary working Super nice hell it feels like a new car, how ever when the transitions is made from prim to secondary the boost drops off big time. 3-5psi

i now will check over the pressure chamber and recheck the vac/pressure lines.

allllllllllllllllll of them!!!! back to leak/pressure hunting

It seems like you have a vacuum mis-routing issues. I've fixed this on my car and a friends car in the post. Every time, all I did was rework the vacuum lines. There were usually several just in the wrong spot. I would pull the UIM and check your lines. Also make sure you have the check valves going in the right directions.
