Help with rear Brake job on FD...911
Ok so what is up with the rear calipers on the FD, the caliper piston is not an open hole and it won't retract enuf to slide over the new pads and rotor...any immediate help would be appreciated as I have to finish the brake job tonight!!!
You must screw in the rear calipers with a Borg Cube or a hefty set needle nose pliers if you are brave.
Do not try to compress the piston with a clamp or you will **** it up.
Also, you must align the slots on the piston to slide over the nubs on the pads.

Great, I already tried that but didn't force anything I hope, I will twist it tonight and hopefully it won't be trashed.
I open opened up the bleed screw and also have the lines removed

Yes they are actuators so screw back in and not press back in.
I basically went through what u are in 1999 for the first time and panicked. My neighbor was a mechanic and sorted it. But not before my redneck tactics with a hammer.
You just took me back to my first ever FD project. Lol

There are two slots. It does not matter which one goes "up". However, you have to align the slot so that when the caliper swings down, the slot notches around the nub on the brake pad.
If one was to read the manuals, one could actually learn a lot.

I am lucky as I'll be dead before the US is a second rate country. But not by much.

This was not a political thread, I served 20 years in the greatest military in the world, and in spite of ur pessimism this will be the greatest country for a millennia at least!!!
Just because I have never seen a rear brake setup like this doesn't give u the right to spread ur worthless opinion here.
