help my 94 doesnt even crank? whats wrong!

i just recently bought a 94 rx7 touring............ i went to pick up the car yesterday and while waiting for the flatbed to come pick it up for the trip back home i decided to take it around the block.......... it needed an alternator, so i wasnt gonna drive it long................. so i put the booster pack and started it up... it started up fine, so i removed the pack and backed it out the drive way and then i put it in park (its a matic) and came out the car to check something....so then i went back into the car to drive it and i put it into reverse and the car shut off........ so i asked my friend to connect back the boosted pack and then i tried to start and nothing happened..........i automatically thought that he blew and fuse by mixing up the postive and negative but he said he didnt........so i checked the main fuse and it was fine................. but the windows and radio/fan everything else works.......the starter is just not cranking......... i even checked the starter/ ignition fuse and nothing they're all fine..............now im guessing it might be a relay but which on.......... what do you guys think?

Ok so i see you are using a booster box but without the alternator working, you are running off the battery. So the battery just might be really really dead and/or shorted not allowing you to get enough CCA to the engine.

Where in NY are you? My shop is in Metuchen NJ if you would like me to look at it. Do you get a clicking sound when attempting to crank?

I sell batteries for a living so I just got to say it. I am sure you have testeed it but even with a charger it could be the battery so make sure its tested. That is the easiest fix and simplest to test.

And you double checked all the connections to make sure they are clean and tight ? All the way to the starter and ground.

if you have a voltmeter and a friend check the voltage at the starter on the big cable will cranking. start there. If you have voltage there and it is close to 12 then check the small wire well cranking. If you have 12 there, its the starter. if you dont on the small wire its either the wire, the relay, the fuse or the ignition switch. just remember you have to be cranking well checking the voltages

Hmmm it's not clicking at all BUT you still have power on everything else right?
I had this exact same problem with my FD once and all it was was one of the wires that went to the starter had come off. Get under the car from the driver side and see if a wire came off the starter and connect if it has and it should start up fine.

could be the security relay or clutch switch as well. the relay is easy to by-pass with a 2" wire and some male tabs
