HELP!!! metering oil pump sensor...

Hi
I have a question about getting metering oil pump sensor...

my metering oil pump is fine...but Mazda dealership told me that I can't just buy the sensor...
That's why I might have to get metering oil pump and sensor...
Do you know anyone selling just a sensor?

They(pump and sensor) cost $1800+tax Canadian if its Mazda factory...
Do you know any aftermarket metering oil pump and sensor?

my mechanic told me that I can't use FC one for sure...which means I'll have to get FD one...
Do you know anyone selling just a sensor for cheap?
Do you know any aftermarket sensor? like RacingBeat, Pettit Racing, M2, etc??
Cuz Mazda factory sensor costs too much...

Thank You

it is electrical. without it working it is still putting out 50%. why not just pre-mix the missing oil?

btw...your mechanic is right and wrong. it is not a direct fit, but you can retrofit an 87 n/a mechanical OMP on there. use your cruise control cable to control it. good luck.

thank you for reply...
I don't understand what do you mean by putting out 50%...and mixing the oil?

Can I use any FC metering oil pump and sensor or just 1987 N/A FC?

thanks

So you're saying I can still drive like crazy and boost with the OMP "not working" just as long as I use premix?

If you OMP sensor is bad, you are probably in limp mode and can't drive it anyway. You either need to fix the problem, or somehow trick the computer into thinking the pump is working. I don't think anyone has ever done this with the stock ECU.

Timpo: I just changed my OMP because I was getting a trouble code for it and it was putting my car in limp mode. I have the old pump sitting in my garage. I tested out the sensor and it seems fine... but my problem was intermittant. In other words, I don't know if the sensor was intermittantly failing, or if it was the stepper motor. I'll sell you my old sensor if you are interested, cheap. I'm thinking like $5 + shipping. Email me at pawusm@yahoo.com if you want it.

vudoodoodoo: I don't know how the PFC treats the oil metering pump. I don't know if it puts the car in limp mode if it fails, so if you are having problems with it, you should probably add premix to your fuel. Just to be safe.

Yeah, I bought some MMO. I was just wondering if I could drive it normally if w/ the premix if I have the OMP error codes.

this is a neat gadget. still would need to retrofit an 87-88 OMP though. it is not an adapter.
