Help me with Differential Troubleshooting!!!

I made a visit to the track on saturday and it seemed like I blew my diff. The rearend was grinding and slipping very bad and visibly locking the rear wheels. It was undrivable. I had the car towed to Ryans House (dont be a rikki) and we are here working on it right now. We just spent several hours taking all the parts off(ppf, half shafts, diff, and other misc). Now that we have it all out we put the halfshafts back in the diff and they turn fine. We also put the driveshaft back in the tranny and that turns fine. There are no obvious cracks in any of the pieces. Could someone please help us out here as to what the probelm might be? Will we need to open the diff to check it? HELP!!!

Drain the fluid into a shallow pan and look for metal shavings or particles. If you donīt see any and have plenty of fluid, then itīs probably not the diff. You might be looking at the transmission. Best of luck.

I'm the one selling the differential. Asking $500. Its the complete rear end out of a 94 touring, 5 speed. Less than 50k miles on it and absolutely no drag launches.

Hey fellas...

Like I was telling FD3boost on saturday I can get sweet *** deals on Mazda factory parts. Or call Woodbridge Mazda down in VA somewhere. Do a search for the number or give me a call and I'll get one for you.

The bearing needs to be pressed in and out if I remember correctly.

Justin

PM me for the number

Try www.mazdasurplus.com. I believe that they have a new limited slip listed pretty low ($300). This appears to be the place MazdaFormance buys from.

I have about 35 runs on mine with drag radials and always in the back of my mind I'm thinking who will
tow me home tonight.Did it happen at the lights,a pre burn out or shifting between gears ??
What was the launch rpm.I have heard that if you don't run slicks, have a launch kit to limit wheel hop
these rears can stand quite a bit of 1/4 mile abuse but??????
