Unhappy help, cars messed up

i just purchased a '94 Rx7 and i went 750 miles to pick it up then i rented a car dolley to haul it back and it ran perfect before i hauled it home. I hauled it in neutral with the rear wheels on the ground cuz i didnt know any better, i know this caused the problem but dont know what all problems it caused. when i got it home the differetial gasket had a leak that leaked on the rear curve of the exhaust and also a lil oil from the oil pan leaked out because it was sitting at an angle so long, no more has leaked since its been sitting level there. i put more oil in and started it and it idles high and doesnt run right. smokes alot also. if i put it in gear it revs like its in neutral. i have no idea whats wrong. im not sure, i didnt know that would cause it, but thats the only thing i can think of. its an auto. i plan on doing a manual swap, but im not sure of the problems hauling it like that could cause, tranny? motor? what did it hurt and what should i replace.

if it was in neutral, that wouldn't affect the engine.. unless being at an angle allowed some oil to seep where it isn't supposed to.

If you messed up the rear end, just find a stock one on the forums here and have someone put it in for you.

well, if there is a problem with your rear end, the tranny won't help. the differential which might be screwed is in the back of the car, inside the "pumpkin" which has the drive shafts to the rear wheels coming out of it. I'd recommend you take it to a pro to have it checked out...

yup, that is the best thing you can do, is take it to a pro so they can pin point the problem rather fix things that arent broken...

checked the oil and its good and smells ok, tranny fluid smells badly burnt. a tranny being out, how would that cause it to idle at almost 3k and smoke alot. i hope nothings wrong with the motor, im gonna replace the tranny. it just dont make sense.

I've towed a few automatic vehicles in neautral but never really messed up a tranny. But than again it was for short distances. Does your tranny fluid have any rubber or black stuff in it. If so its a bad sign that some of the seals could have gone out, and could be reflective in your idle.
