HELP!! Can't figure this out.

So last night I am putting on my new 99spec lip, and everything is fine, didnt even touch the engine. I start it and it cranks first try. Then today I go to take some clothes home, and then it won't start. The engine is turning but there is this loud sound like a really fast dremel spinning. I think its the starting not catching any ideas? Any help on how I can get it to crank?

Holy Crap! I did the same thing last weekend, except installed an R1 Lip, now my damn car's horn doesn't work, and airbag light is blinking 6X in a row! Totally unrelated! And I think we have the same number of posts. Damn front lips. Sounds like your starter bendix is not engaging. Starter is spinning but not contacting the flywheel. If this is the problem you will need to remove the starter. Probably about as much as a PITA as my problem which involves removing the steering wheel.

Dont whack too hard!!! If you break or crack it the local parts store will not take it as a core, then you will get charged the core charge. The starters are alittle salty to begin with ($190.00ish).

It could be bad grounds. I had the same issue where I could hear the starter spinning and trying to start but wouldn't. I checked the battery first, it was low so I charged it up. Still same problem but cranking faster. Then I removed the alternator and starter and had them tested. Came out fine. I found later that I missed one ground (the one that goes from the UIM to the firewall, passenger side and I connected one of the grounds to the chassis instead of the block). After that, no problem.

good luck

Check your fuses - a blown electrical fuse could lead to this problem.
