It's not metal guys, it's a plastic finish that looks like chrome. You can remove it, paint it or just buy a new one.

Nothing you do will ever bring it back to it's original condition. I replaced mine with a new cluster. It makes a huge difference!!

Yeah...that's what I did. You can just get the plastic cover which has the chrome bezels on them.

im willing to try to paint it. there must be a crome paint somewhere but how do you take off the rings themselfs without breaking anything?

Mine took a **** long before I even bought the car...In any case, I have always wondered if the rings are removable or are they parts of the cluster?

If they are removable, you could probably get a machinist/machine shop to make some new ones out of aluminum. Then they could be; polished, anodized, powdercoated or painted.

They always say "The RX7 club price is..." so no I don't think you need to mention the secret passphrase "**** you Ray!".

I don't think the rings are removable - they're part of the clear plastic face of the gauges. Big thing with those trim rings is to just leave them alone - don't scrub them with Armor-All and crap.

Nothing special to get a deal from Malloy - just talk to Ray, and he'll get you the right part at a fair price.
