Greddy front mount 24v intercooler

I just ordered one of these from Jason. Does anyone have any pics of their install. I will be trying to make the apexi intake work since that is what I already have. I would like any advise to make the install go smoother too.
Thanks in advance

That is cool. I am about 2 hours south from you. Do you know where Mcalester is? I am about 30 minutes east of Mcalester. I have a friend in OKC that has a black 3rd gen. Nice running into people with the same disease.
Do you need any help with the install?

Hey Brad,
I know where Mcalister is. "...same disease..." that'g good....I guess you can call it that...Thanks for the offer to install the fmic but my cousin and I have been doing our research and pretty ready with tools and everything. There are a few 3gen owners around here. One guy I know and is pretty cool. never tried to hook up with any of them though...I would like to get together just to take photos with all the cars...Anyway, if you haven't done the install yet Jason from the RX7 made an interesting comment. He uses a lawn mower battery...Aparently if you don't have an upgraded stereo system then it's ok...Thought I would pass that along...Think I may go the miata battery route just becasuse the thought of having lawn mower parts in my car just doesn't settle right.

If you ever pass through T-town give me a holler!

I have the Miata battery and a Bad *** Rockford/Alpine system in my car with big chrome Amps and a 15 in Sub. I haven't had any problems. I left my dome light on for over a day once and the car still started. The Miata batteries from Wesco are awesome.I ordered mine from

If you're using a Koyo radiator, which I hope you are living in the southwest, then the Miata battery will not fit. I'm using Jason's old hcpower.net deep cycle battery.

i moved my battery in the storage behind the passenger seat, bought a kit for $45 from Jegs, i don't know what a miata battery costs but it's a good option. It really does suck trying to fit the apex intakes on, we had a biotch of a time, we used my hardpipes and the stock ones and did some "customizing" I have some closeups of the intakes if you want those too.

Watch out for stickers that are put on the wrong way. lol

Hey Brady, I finally finished the install...

Here's the thread with a pic..

I am using a 340cca lawnmower battery at the moment and it's is very ghettoly (is that a word) installed. Think I am going to go with the hcpowered battery as it seems to fit on that ledge really nicely.

You done with y ou install yet?

I can measure it. It is about the same size as a lawnmower battery. Very small. It fits in the cubby very well. I cut out the cubby so I could ground it easier and route the wires easier too. If you cut the cubby out there is two emty bolt holes that are perfect for grounds. Works great.

No I don't have mine yet Jason didn't ship it until yesterday. I wondered why he wouldn't e-mail me back with the tracking number. I called today and got the tracking number and I should have it by Wednesday. Do you have any tips for the install? Any problems with it?
It sure looks good on your car. I picked up my Greddy t78 kit this weekend. So it will be going on at the same time. I have alot of work ahead of me. But it will be worth it.

Helpful Pics

Hey Brady,
Here's a couple of pics I thought may help...

The instructions say to cut this piece but it really doesn't show how much to cut...Here's how much I cut and it works fine...

Frame Trim

This is how much to cut the reenforcement bar that's behind the bumper. BTW, that's not me under the car...that's my friend who came over to tackle sticking the new powersteering line into the hose that's tangled up by the oil cooler lines.

Rebar Trim

And how much you will need to trim off the inside of the bumper...As you can see it took me a couple tries and then some extra trimming along the side. And after all that it's still a close fit.

Bumper Trim

I have more photos from the install if you think of anything give a holler!

Hope this helps..

Nice pics.
You dont have to cut the frame. The pipes will fit without that.
We usually cut about 2 inches off the inner bumper lip.

I finally got my Intercooler today. But my instructions and part of my shipment is missing. So I guess I will STILL be waiting on stuff. Ordering stuff sure is a pain. Is there a place I can download the instructions until mine come in?
