Full Detail Automotive Review

I just wanted to take a minute to share my great experience with Full Detail Auto. I recently bought what I thought was a pristine white 1994 FD with a 5 speed, as God intended. Unfortunately the first drive showed that the second turbo wasn’t coming online and boost was dropping off. After doing some more research, I realized I was over my head.

Since I’m in Florida, I looked at a few shops to send it to but decided on FDA after talking to Mike and could not be happier. We came up with a game plan of fixing the boost issue and to make some small upgrades. He explained some potential issues that he has seen and his plan on addressing them if needed.

Mikes communication can not be matched. On delivery of the car, he sent me a full initial walkthrough video of the car pointing out mods and things that only a true enthusiast would see. Turns out I’ve probably got an original 99 Mazda wing, sweet.

Several times a day, I would get progress videos and photos in an album that tracked his work which I loved. I’ve had cars built by other big name shops and havent gotten anywhere near this level of detail.

We ran into a few unforeseen issues which is to be expected for a 30 year old car. The battery had previously leaked and corroded the radiator enough to make me uncomfortable so he quickly overnighted a new one from Japan.

After getting the car back together, he got it tuned and it put down 325 to the wheels on 93 octane at a flat 12 psi. The boost issues were caused by a variety of bad vacuum lines. After seeing the videos, I would have never been able to fix it on my own.

After getting the car back, it drives so much better. Mike truly loves these cars and his service is top notch. I wouldn’t change anything about my experience. 10/10 I would highly recommend.

Good to hear another good review of a local shop. I can confirm his communication is on point. I do all my own work but have worked with him with the dyno and will be in the future as well. Too bad your that far north, we could use another clean white one around Tampa.
