Finally Got My Baby!
Well technically I still have to pick her up next week.
But as you can see I have been around for probably over a year now, and though my original intentions were to get an FD I had a hard time finding financing since they were beyond the 10 year gap. Well I ended up getting a '99 MX-5 instead. Loved the car to death.
But I saw Fitzrx7's beautiful beast on mothers day, told the wife I had to have my dream car before I die. I sold the MX-5 4 days later, had an FD that had everything I wanted tracked down and started the process. Hope to pick her up next Thursday.
1994 Montego Blue Base Model, Black Interior, seats have been reupholstered with tan leather, 96k miles, stock, no sun roof, automatic.
My wife freaked when I told her I wanted an automatic. I have been driving nothing but standards for over 10 years now and decided that my next car was going to be an automatic. So before you nay-sayers chime in about how bad the auto is, let me tell you, it will fall on deaf ears, because I wanted an automatic, and I couldn't be more pleased.
I want to go ahead and thank everyone here for letting me troll the boards for the past year and for helping me with the problems, even though I never asked because I know how to utalize the search feature!
I will get better pictures when I take delivery, but for now here she is!

Basically I am going to make sure all of the reliability mods are done, and possibly a rebuild. I don't drive alot since I live 2 miles from work, but I do have guard duty 2 hours away once a month.
Long term, intake, exhaust, some kind of fuel computer, perhaps a commander though I am more familair with e-manages from my days with Subaru's. I am basically comfortable with anything that has over 200rwhp, I have no need to go any faster, guess I am getting old! lol.. But if it turns out like it did when I got the boost bug and turbo charged my Subaru I may end up loosing my mind yet and tossing some other mods at it.
Exterior, probably a subtle drop, some nice 17 inch wheels. Thats about it. I plan on keeping this car for a long, long time. After all its been my dream car for at least 10 years now, so I am floating on cloud nine right now.
I really want to work with an electronically controlled automatic transmission. I would like to explore the possiblity of using an after market TCU to create a manumatic of sorts. My dream as far as that goes would be to remove the stock gear selector and make a push button setup and then use the stock area to do an optional shifter. I think I read somewhere that Weaklink has had some experiance with an aftermarket TCU in the past. But that is down the line, and I may end up just going with a tranny swap.
But I have alot of other projects lined up first. For more info on my past/present with cars you can check out the link to my Step-dad and I's shop. Our project lineup has changed. We still want to do the Diablo kit since the body has been sitting in the garage for years, but were not really turned on by the idea of it anymore. Our top priority is getting started on the '61 Vette and possibly putting a V-8 into our '88 Porsche 944. Basically Floyd has been working on building a new house for the past few years while I was away on Active Duty, but he should finish up this summer so we can devote more time to the cars.
