Front stationary gear condition
Rebuilding my 13b-rew and noticed all the teeth on the front gear have small notches at the tips. All on the same sides of the teeth. It's very uniformed like it came from the factory that way.
Is this useable? With single turbo mild boost.

I was asking the same thing 6 months ago, but since you mentioned Mazdatrix even Kyle Mohan recommends the RX8 stat gears on earlier 13B engines.
the rear RX8 stat gear is slightly different, but you can still use it by putting a thin layer of silicone on the sealing face just before installing it. Would recommend doing a search as there are various threads on the forum explaining it all.
for the price it clearly makes sense to replace that part for a rebuild. Something was caught in there and caused that damage as you can see by looking at the pictures on the Mazdatrix links. Did you inspect the mating rotor gear to see if it is also damaged? Possibly that happened with a different rotor and wasn’t replaced, but if the rotor gear is also damaged then you’re in the same boat with it too.

Thanks for all the responses! I was unaware of being able to use the rx8 gear so I'll definitely be nabbing one of those.
The gear on the mating rotor was perfectly okay so it's possible the previous rebuilder just used it in that condition the front rotor seals were all in rough shape tho. Broken corner and side seals and bent/warped apex seals (RA classics). Maybe that had something to do with it.
