front license plate bracket
I am having a difficult time finding a front license plate bracket for my RX-7. If anyone has one or knows where I can get one, I'd appreciate the info...

You can still get them from the dealership put they aren,t cheap around 60.00. I recomend getting on of the circuit style brackets that have a hinge on them, or you could just fab your own wouldn't be that hard.

You could always do what I did. I stuck my front license plate under my side windshield on the passenger side. This has the added benefit of not restricting airflow at the front of the car and messing up the over all look of the front end.

My state needs a front license plate. I bought my car from a guy in MI where they don't have front plates. I and many others in my state don't run a front plate on their FD. No tickets so far. I'll wait till I get a ticket before I spend $60+ to Mazda for one.
Looks crappy with a front plate on the car.

I'm in so. California where the driving rules are so ****. I don't have mine on and haven't gotten a ticket ever. Only a ******** cop trying to meet his quota should give you a ticket. And it's only a fix-it ticket. (at least where I live)

They require a front plate here in WI but I never put one on. No tickets yet. I'm not sure if cops are allowed to have quotas anymore. I asked a state trooper about it and he said they don't have them anymore because it was ruled unconstitutional or something similar to that.

i live in missouri where they are required also, and i had my fd for about 5 months before it started hibernating for the winter... and i was pulled over for it twice, and had a cop give me **** about it once when it was parked. no tickets yet for me either, i always told them i ordered the bracket from Mazda and they were on backorder (even tho i actually have one at home but don't want to put it on ) but where i live putting a plate in the front window isn't any more legal than not having one, so idon't bother with that. i still want to keep my bracket on hand cause i would put it on if i got a ticket.

I actually got a copy of the Cali vehicle code to look this up (and other things). My findings regarding the front plate: it only has to be visible clearly (from the front) and mounted to the front of the car. Now, you could define the "front" as any portion forward of the centerline of the car in theory. HOWEVER, the kicker, you can't have any objects obstructing the windshield, with the exception of a small square (smaller than a plate) on either side for stickers. DOH. So, bottom line, in Cali, its illegal to put it in the windshield. My solution: no front plate period .

I've never gotten a ticket for not having one, even though its illegal not to have one in Wash. If I get tickets for it in the future I'd just pay them, and leave it off. There just to ugly.
But you could just get some big old half inch lag bolts and just drill them right into the nose.
