freezing bushings before install?

im about to install bushings and i remember someone saying they threw their bushings in the freezer the night before and the next day they went in with no problems... is that safe to do? logically it makes sense as the cold will compact them but just wanted to double check before i try doing it...

If you just get some soapy water and lube the inside of the control arms with it, and your bushing, you will be fine.

BTW are they stock replacement or aftermarket? I could see the rubber ones shrinking a tiny bit but not the Delrin.

At least for the superpro diff bushings, no freezing was necessary. The provided lube worked well. Just have to take your time pushing them in.

For rubber bushings I can't see how this would matter. You are going to need a press no matter what you do.

I have never done it but freezing sounds reasonable and it doesn't hurt to try.

The cold definitely helps. Not necessary but it helps.
