Fmic Question?
who here has an FMIC with the radiator in stock location or straight mounted, have any overheating problems, if so how hot does it get, alot or barely noticeable , i'm thinking about taking out the A/C condensor so the air won't have to go through the IC through the condensor then the radiator, please

This has been discussed many times....you likely won't have problems overheating on the street in normal conditions. However, any kind of hard driving or track driving in warmer weather will almost certainly lead to overheating.
Why the hell would you remove the A/C in Florida? Just go with an SMIC...you can keep the A/C, you'll have cooler water temps, and your air temps will be just fine.

seems like the reason almost everyone gets rid of there A/C (me included). You cant miss something you never had.

It sounds like you already have a FMIC like I do so here is some advice. I tossed my AC since I never use it but it helps a little with air flow. If you want to address the problem , have you tried to seal off your rad ? Any air passing through the FMIC is going to find the easiest way around your Rad if its not sealed off well. A shround on top and seal it off to the under tray also.
Just wondering , what are you going to do with your FD ? Most FMIC guys drag the cars , like myself. If I was going to drive it more on a daily basis I would have went V mount. SMIC help with air flow to the rad, but they soak up alot of heat .

I have a greddy FMIC with the stock radiator mounted upright.
No overheating problems whatsoever. Even in the summer with 90-100 degree weather, water temp gauge never showed above 200F in normal driving. With some boosting, it would creep up a bit but never to an extreme.

Actually, in the short period of 20-25 minutes to work in the summer weather, i havent seen the gauge go above 185F. Now if theres traffic, it would hover near 200F after a while. Obviously with boosting, it would get hotter, especially if you're driving in the city which i did. And i dont turn the fans on til it gets 180F.
I dont track my car so i wouldnt know how this setup would be like. But for what i use it for and for people who do street driving, an FMIC could be good too.
