Flooding problem - need advise
I have just bought a stock standard FD not long ago, just recently i have a problem with starting it.
2 days ago my engine was flooded, i did some research on this site and other Rx7 sites and went through the procedures and able to unflood the car with a set of new plugs.
but my problem is: since then everytime when i try to start the car, it doesnt want to start, or it will "purr" and "just" able to start after a about 9 seconds of cranking....then a big white smoke coming out from exhaust that indicate a lot of fuel was in the engine..
if anyone has experience of the above pls point me to the right direction to what i should do.
some ppl tell me to install a fuel pump relay to cut the fuel when trying to start it (which i had one in my old FC) but then i rang up and asked other rotary mechanics and they said FD should have that starting problem.
i guess i will have to bring the car to the mechanic but they usually charge heaps so i was thinking if anything i can find out and fix myself.
every piece of advice will be important to me..many thx.

first things first, are you shure the smoke was white ???,because white smoke is usually oil not fuel ,fuel should be black in colour, did you also check if youre getting a decent spark???,
also if you recently bought this fd it would be a great idea to do a compression check ,i know it sucks just to mention it , but its better to know for shure

thanks for the response guys.
i changed the oil and saw the oil oil is dark like ****!
and now the car can start most of the time, but it does need cranking the ignition for a little bit longer than usual, sounds like the fuel doesnt burn in the first go and need a few attempts, is that normal?
Deos ur FD's starts straight away when turning the key or like mine have to crank for a while? coz some ppl told me this is pretty normal for rotaries, but i cant be sure.
