Does it really waste that much fuel? It's not that often you do a fast decel after a high rev pull...unless you're trying to impress some ladies w/ some flames eh? I mean maybe for track but c'mon how can you hate fire out the exhaust?

It is the rpm in which it cuts fuel to. Setting them to 8100 removes it completely because that is the redline.

If you have a datalogit, setting it to zero would probably disable it as well. Setting the Decel Fuel Cut as your redline basically means your eliminating it. Any number is fine as long as your not going over it to perform your firefall.

FYI, you don't need to go through this to get a fireball. Rotaries love to spit fireballs when the exhaust is hot enough. Even a catless RX-8 will fire some flames under the right conditions. Ever been to a track day? The rotaries are constantly shooting fireballs hence my sig which was taken by specator .

It's also entirely possible that the guy had been boosting hard before the video was taken. Would have heated up his exhaust.

But, it's equally likely he is retarded at tuning... Probably more likely.

His fire happens after he does a pull with his car which is normal. However, the amount of sustained fire coming out is abnormal so the car is probably just running silly rich.
