Enlighten Me! :-)

So I am about to take on my first rotary and am shopping for an FD now. I was curious what are the big things to look for and what to expect differently from the car?

The plans are to get a decent running FD 13b, do some basic maintenance (interested to hear what should be done on these -- used to things like oil change, spark plugs, timing chain, etc, etc so I'm assuming that still holds true) and then some minor upgrades (looking for 300ish WHP reliably + some exterior mods like wheels, coilovers, suspension upgrades, etc) and drive it for a year or so while building a 20b.

What I'm trying to get a feel for is what are the unforeseen that I should keep an eye out for that are probably common with these cars.

Appreciate any input!

Well...baby its like having a High maintenance girl..Make sure to always keep an eye on your oil and to change it excessively. First thing I would do is do all the maintenance and change all fluids.

And before the "you guys are no help" crying. We could post all day and night in here and would still miss things, best way is to go into the stickies and FAQs and do a bunch of reading. We all did it at one point, I read this board for close to 4 years before deciding to buy my first 7.

My advice...READ READ READ.
The more you know about what you are buying, the less likely you will purchase something that has a bad apex seal or blown coolant seal.
I wish I would have known about coolant seals being able to be blown...
