Question fixing an fd?

does anybody know about how hard it would be to fix a flooded fd?not just i little flooded i mean she went completely underwater...brackish water...altho rust looks to be a minimal...was wondering if it would be worth getting into....can probably get the car for about a hundred dollars...wheels are missing...an somebody got the tranny out of it...but under the hood she looks clean...didnt think to check the oil should have it might not have to much water in it...ummm but advise would be nice...

If u have alot of spare time and the resources to do it do it. But with a flooded car all wiring should be replaced, because u most likley will have serious corrosion in about a year, and it will be alot easier to replace it all while the car is stripped. If u do decide to go through with the project u will definatley know the car inside and out. good luck with whatever u decide. if u don't go through with it please let me know.

you said serious corrosion in about a year welll from just an outside look of it there is minor rust but nothing a car of a little age wouldnt have...an i'm from new orleans so this is a car that went under during Katrina...but my overall view of the car says its in pretty good condition

I would buy it but only if I had plenty of space and time to part it out when I decided it was almost all junk.

Let's put it this way, for $100 or even twice that.... if you decide against it, I'll pay YOU to buy it for me & I'll drive from CT to pick it up, buy you a beer and a few lap dances before I drive back to CT with it. Be warned though, nothing is good on it save the VIN. Wanna sell to me?

yeah just outside of kenner actually...i will have to keep in mind that yall want this car that bad...;p...i didnt think anybody would want it to bad being it was flooded an a while ago at that...how hard do yall think it will be to track down all the parts i will need to fix it?another thing how well do yall think a rotary engine holds up to being under water like that?i mean a friend of mine bought a flooded 71 mach 1 with a new 427 cobra jet engine in it...an we pulled the motor out pulled the heads an oil pan off put a pipe wrench to an got it turning over...just wondering if a rotary will be that easy or not

it would probably mostly depend on if some one tried to start the motor after it was flooded

i was talking about the wire corrosion, the green discoloration of the wires when u cut the shething off, it will create alot of resistance in the wires and will eventually be considered an open in the wire.

yeah i know the wires are gonna deteriorate they probably already are...i bought a flooded camper already an i had to chase the wires up to the ceiling where the water didnt reach an cut an splice in new wires...dead batteries will be a regular with this car to...dim lights an crap...so all the wires will need to be changed...how hard is it to take the interior out of these cars(without breaking it)...most parts can just be cleaned an put back in...the plastic ones anyway

Yup, they're all sequential twin-turbo. Unless the car's been mod'ed to go parallel, or single, or V-8, or ...
