FDs in the U.S....

From Wikipedia, at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mazda_RX-7.

I've forever been confused when it comes to FDs and when and where they were sold.

Coming from Wikipedia, FDs were sold from 1992-1998 in the U.S. Of the years 1996-1998 only Australia and some U.S. states received this version.

*Which states in America recieved the fd in 1996-1998?

oh yea, random question, what were the stock FD turbos?

That'd be wrong, 1993-1995 was sold in the US, and I belive Canada, after the 1995 year they were no longer sold in the US / LHD after that RHD cars were still beeing made, and some were exported to other (than Japan) "RHD" countries like Aus. and Uk... In 1999 A revamp of some of the exterior body parts was instituted, and then in 2002 Discontinued alltogether...

At least that's what I understand, but I'm sure someone is going to disagre....

The FD chassis was sold as 1993-1995 model years. As with other cars, the 1993 models are often available a year early, and the 1995 models might sit on some dealers' lots for months until they're sold. I really doubt there were any new RX-7's sold in 1998.

The stock turbos are made by Hitachi, custom-designed for the FD. I'm pretty sure the model is HT10.

You can find lots more info in the 3rd Gen FAQ: https://www.rx7club.com/3rd-generation-specific-1993-2002-16/faq-3rd-gen-other-useful-links-68640/

By the way, I edited the wikipedia article. It's really easy, they just assume that anyone who edits is correct or will be corrected later.

From Wikipedia:

"RX-7s were sold in North America until 2002, even though it was no longer valid for sale in many states after the '97 model year."

The first part of this sentence is totally incorrect and I am not even sure what the second part means.

FDs were sold in NA only between the years 1993-1995. cf. the "Registered FD #'s by state" sticky above.

I remember looking at that page a few months ago and finding it to be pretty solid. I think at least one clueless idiot has been editing it since then.

in the states and canada they were sold from 93-95, fc's were sold from 85-91, there was no 92...except in japan where the fd started production late late 91(therefore given a 92 model date) and was made up till 02, although i believe after 97 or 98 they started to slow production, the same with australia and europe although i dont think europe got too many fd's

Stock turbos were Hitachi HT-12s. Please don't create threads on general topics easily answered by reading the FAQ thread.
