great post, cozmo.

I'll reiterate what I said above, ANY harassment that occurs in this forum will be dealt with HARSHLY. The thought that people are afraid to post here because of harassment makes me extremely unhappy....

actually i am with rynberg on this one , its totaly uncool that youre on a forum and you cant talk to people or share experiences because youll`e get leghumped, ...thats waht a forum is for, so that people can talk amongst eachother , if you cant do that ,then whats the use of the forum ....uncool guys , bad form
I think its totally cool when a chick comes out and rips , and starts to talk about "how i beat a supra" or something if they are cute then its a bonus but come one none theless where all rotary people , be it guy or girl ...so why so much fuss ??

for starters, i think this tread is absolute trash. Silverstone, ur a ignorant noob for starting this sexist thread. What's the point? If u read enough old posts, you'll see theres a good amount of members on this forum are girls.

who cares if a fd owner is a girl. if you're trying make any sexist remarks about women drivers, there are tones of guys who can't drive.. not to mention crashing their FD's. It goes both ways for guys and girls.

Everytime a girl posts and claims they're a girl, some guys immediatly have to respond with **** like: oh wow, ur a girl? are you for real? does ur boyfriend work on ur car?

A thread like this only allows douchbag sexists to surface and make idiotic remarks.

I can imagine tasteless comments in this thread will only turn many female fd owners away from responding.

Pure_rotary-

Well in case my joke did offend... pure_rotary - if you offended by my comment, I apoligize, I thought we were joking back & forth.

I would never say something like that in a non-joking manner... as for all I know you could be the infamous CHRIS HANSEN

ryneberg -

I know you said your comment (quoted above) wasn't directed at me... but if you think the smiley I used showed a lack of class... I suggest the RX7Club not make that smiley availible... because I can't imagine ANY situation when a "69" smiley could be used WITH class.

In general-

While I'm not supporting "leg-humping"... it's a matter of life... should it happen... of course not. But people shouldn't "flame" new members for asking a foolish question either... but it happens... the two actions aren't much different... as they both result in making the subject feel uncomfortable about future posts...

I don't see anyone getting all upsept when someone attacks a new forum member for asking stupid questions...

It depends on Silverstone's initial purpose of this thread... if it was solely to bring out femal RX7 owners so that they can be harassed, then I agree with you...

But as Silverstone stated... he feels that being into cars is predominatley (sp) a guy thing... especially for a niche car like the RX7... so mabye he was just curious as to how many RX7s are actually owned by females...

I think the same as Silverstone, but I think it's cool that women do get into the car thing, & give them kudos...

We don't know why Silverstone REALLY started this thread...

But in either case Kudos to you female RX7 owners...

If we were all sitting in a room somewhere talking about our cars 90% of things said on this forum, would never be mentioned face to face. After my pics were put in the lounge there were about 50 pages of harrassment and a few decent honest questions and some nice compliments. I rearely ever post on this forum anymore, though I am always on here reading and researching or getting parts. There would be alot more girls comming out and posting if it wasnt for the fact that someone would say "pics. or fail" or "do you have any pics. you could send me" tasteful compliments are always apreciated by any girl or anyone in general. but a girl has got to prepare herself for what may come of a thread she has started. I have had my FD for almost 4 years now, I love my car, I have went through multiple daily drivers but would'nt trade my FD for anything. I would like to post on this forum more often and talk to both guys and girls alike here about what they are doing with their cars and just everything rotary related, but there is nothing really that can be done about the "leg humping"

I think it is stupid that you feel like you cant post because i know the forum has helped me in a lot of instances. So yea stupid remarks should be done away with.

BUT as far as leg humping would you mind if i did it to your fd!!! I love those wheels and that scoot hood.

Sorry dont care if your Carmen Electra would take my Fd over any chick anyday.

Although a girl probably is cheaper

it is EASY for users to remain anonymous on these forums. if the sole purpose is to get information or talk cars.. why would it matter if u're male or female? so why share that fact?

girls are aware of leg humpers but continue to let other users know that they ARE girls. sure hiding your sex takes a TINY bit of effort but if leghumping is bugging you then do something about it.

i don't know if the or guys or girls are to blame for the lame lughumping.

don't hump girls here, hump fds

I am most disturbed by where this thread has gone, I sure hope the moderators can keep this forum comfortable for all folks, we are all here by choice, so keep it fun for everyone...... if women cant participate comfortably then i dont want to be here either.........
for the leg humpers: you might want to just grow up and learn a little respect

That is a seriously disturbing attitude. This forum isn't the military, we don't have a don't ask don't tell policy here.....

Telling women not to reveal themselves so they can avoid being leghumped is ridiculous. It isn't going to happen in this forum. Period.

As far as the harassment of newbies, people are told to search and use the FAQ thread when they post general questions. They are not harassed.

TMadlem84:

The exhange between you and Pure Rotary was obviously mutual, so no problem. As far as the smilies go, obviously several of them are pretty low-class if not amusing in the right context.

lol rynberg .

when it comes to the point where a female owner doesn't want to post i think its a n alternative. kind of the same thing with age? what happens when someone goes around telling everyone on the board that they are 15/16 and just bought a fd for a first car? are they looking for trouble/attention? <-- which is another point, are a few of the female fd owners just looking for attention? for example, very few male owners pose with their fd's when posting pictures. yet a good number of female owners do, and in pictures that are apparently not to show off the car, but themselves instead. (i'm aware not all do this, but those that do may propagate this message to the leg humpers on the forums?)

soo although i agree what i said is not a good solution, but accordingly, tossing fuel into a fire isn't going to help anything wether it is the sex issue or the age issue.

its like dangling a banana in front of a monkey and when he snatches it from you and gobbles it down, you scold it for being bad. its just doing what monkeys do! so everyone watch where you put your bananas or a monkey will eat it

If girl is cool enough to like cars(which is mostly a "guy thing") she could also take any kind of message as a joke or even ignore it. What I learned and heard from women behavior so far is: "That is cool baby, whatever you said, I love it, its cool turbo, lets go my sister wants to go shopping" . Then when she gets mad " your stupid car, your stupid turbo , you are one little kid , you dont care about me bla, bla....

Dont understand me wrong, I love women, but its hard to find a nice one...
Girl that said:"Why are you leg-hamping me , dont do it or i wont come here again" is not as cool as we think she is. If she wants to be cool she got to understand that here is 10 000 guys and I guarantie you 1 in 100 is gonna leg-hamp for sure. So be cool and take it as joke... or dont even read it.

IMO perfect woman is the one that understands (in this case) you passion after cars and thats it. If she understand that she will understand everything. I want her....

Goddamn some of you guys need to grow up.....or at least learn to treat women with respect. I guess your parents never taught you how to be gentlemen? Trust me, I'm not a prude and I can joke around with the guys about women like anyone else, but there's a time and a place for that, and it's not a car forum.

I understand that, because of the ratio of men:women, the site often feels like a men's club (or should I say boy's club). But it's not. Women should feel welcome to post here without harassment.

Man, rynberg is laying the smackdown.

Some of you need to think about what you're saying more. My older sister used to want a fd and if guys like this were to say some of these remarks i'm reading, i'd stand up for her like any good brother would (as i've done in the past). How would some of you feel if your sister or girlfriend were getting the remarks that are being said?
Just disappointing....
