FDs owned by women?
This is just one of those fun to ask questions and it happens to be 3rd gen specific.
Maybe I'm wrong but FDs seem to be a "guy" thing. Are there any women members of this forum that own FDs? If not, why do you think that is? I am a member of another car forum and I run into women posters quite often there but NEVER here. So there it is. I may have committed some unspoken sin, but I had to ask.

Ah yes Let the leg humping begin!!!
Yes there's a few chicks, (and a few hot ones) that own FD's on this forum. You can find them . . . . just look for threads with a high post count

it's very rare to find a woman owner of an FD because they require so much maintenance...women don't like competition for high maintenance
seriously, though, the only girls I ever knew who owned an FD had a b/f or husband who did all the work on it (and then sold it after a few years)

The best story of a woman owning an FD I've ever heard was told to me by a salesman for a dealership. This was back when they were selling new. A woman, who was a violinist for the Boston Symphony Orchestra, came in and bought a brand new Touring model.
But she didn't buy it for the car, she bought it for the Bose stereo which she thought was among the most advanced stereo systems at the time. I've often wondered how long she kept the car?

there's a chick that's stationed at the base here that has a VR FD, but she only got it because she was supposed to be getting it for someone else and she got stuck with it. she's trying to sell it though

I've known quite a few over the years. One gal here in Pensacola with a silver '94 that's VERY clean, nicely modded, and she's done all the work herself. She's bigtime into the car.
There was another chick here in town with a stock base model that she loved - she just enjoyed driving the car as it was.
There was also an older lady here in town with one - never met her, but saw the car on a few occasions.
My wife will be driving mine up to her work today, probably making some adolescents swoon in the process ("dude, did you see that hot chick in that RX-7? Damn!"). She's had a silver '87 GXL that I built for her when we were dating/engaged, and a white '90 'vert just when we were married - of course she had those cars due to me . But, she learned to drive a stick in the GXL.
And, just to throw a picture in the thread, my favorite pic from our wedding. This is us on the way to the reception from the wedding proper, shot by my best friend. The white 'vert made a great wedding-mobile
Also, don't forget RotorHolly in Georgia - she's very cool, met her and John Duff once when they came to Pensacola. And from the big list era, Trixie with her "YELO R1", met her at a track event once, very cool gal.

Constant threat
I would say by and large the FD was not a typical "chick car", not like the thousands of Camaro, Firebird, and Mustangs you see that were purchased by women, or given to their little girls by Daddy....lol!
I would venture to say the women that DO own FDs are totally cool.
My car was originally owned by the wife of the Mazda dealer here in Wichita, making me the 2nd owner. While I don't know anything about her personally, I've heard she is "into" cars in general.

Thats an easy explanation. While we're in here fantasizing about all the "hot chicks" who drive FD's. That is precisely what they're doing, DRIVING them. Exactly what we should all be doing right now!!!! Now go tear up some pavement

Agreed.
I think the little female FD owners out there, they wouldnt be online discussing their experiences but rather out enjoying life and their car.
I saw an older lady drive a bone stock MB FD a mile or 2 from me. My friend says shes had that car for a while but when i saw her with my own eyes, i was amazed.
Too bad she wasnt younger. lol

I bought my FD from the original female owner. She loved the car and got 125k miles out of the original engine (to her disappointment). I'm almost done with it and I promised her I would drive it out to her place so she could take a spin in it again.
Makes ya feel all warm and fuzzy don't it?
