Potential blown motor or something else.. help!

I don't drive my RX7 everyday and this could be part of the problem. Also the engine was compression checked a few months with 80psi compression on both rotors (warm and around 95psi cold).

So here is the story..

I started the car to move it out a litle in the garage and probably ran it for about 10-15 seconds before turning it off. (Normally I always warm the engine up until the water temp is at least 75c before driving it anywhere)

I went to start the car up later in the morning and it simply wouldn't start. What was weird was the starter motor would spin up like there was NO load from the engine on it. The noise made did not sound like a stalling motor trying to start or anything like it. After conducting some basic diagnostic tests I found that the starter motor was working correctly and I *believe* the pinion gear was fuctioning as well as the fan belt and all of the accessories attached were rotating in time with the starter motor which runs off the fly wheel.

What I don't get is if I had a blown engine, the car should sound like it is trying to start but can't. What I am hearing is zero engine noise and all starter motor noise like it's revving it's guts out and is clearly engaged with something.

I got under the car and checked to see if the starter motor had oil on it (I have a slow oil leak) to see if it was messing things up but it's as clean as whistle and I replaced it only 6 months ago with a new one.

Outside of conducting a compression check (which I will do later) and ideas on what might be the cause?

Thanks Djseven, I just realised that it's probably flooded and that makes sense.

I have upgraded 850cc primary injectors and the idle tune is way rich at the moment (something I need to fix). I will go and order some new plugs and do the 'unflood' routine and hope for the best.

Flooded from running for a short time. The worst you will probably have to do is put in new plugs plus what djseven said.
