FD starts then idles up then dies!!!
Hey.
I’ve just gone to start up the weekend warrior and it fires up idles for 2 seconds at 2000rpm then dies
if checked all the basics. Voltage, over ride. Fuel pump and check vac hoses.
I have noticed that when I turn the key on the fuel pump doesn’t kick in to prime the system, should that be something I should be looking into?
have tried to keep it running whole over riding fuel pump in the diagnostics port but still dies.
any ideas would be much appreciated.
I have been on the site all day going back and forth…next step was going to be to roll it out of garage and light it on fire.

I hate problems like these, because they are so dang frustrating; in other words I feel your pain. I would maybe check your idle air control valve. Make sure it is clean, happy and getting good voltage. Consider resetting your idle air screw. Finally I would test your fuel pressure. Hook up an inline fuel pressure tester (you can get a cheap one from Hobo Freight) and verify you are getting good constant pressure while someone starts the car.

check the plugs
clear any fuel out of the combustion chamber
how old is the gas? do you actually have gas in the tank?
The FD is a MAP-based car, so vacuum leaks aren't going to affect idling all that much.
when was the last time it started?
if you're convinced it's a fuel issue, you might need to check fuel flow and pressure and/or the injectors.

I just had my PowerFC die on me, so could be ECU related?
My symptoms were:
-Hard to start
-Bad idle (sounded like my car when on 1 rotor)
-Reving up to around 1500 seems to clear it up
-Car eventually just dies after idle evens out
There's not much you can do in terms of troubleshooting, other than throwing another ECU in to check

Yeah need some more info here.
Jumper the fuel pump check connector in the diagnostic box and turn the key to On, you should hear the pump running. It should keep the pump running even after starting the car.
Make sure you just simply aren't out of gas
List of mods, last time it ran right? Has it been started/moved/stopped many times recently? Could be fouled plugs too but somewhat doubtful if it DOES start.
This isn't a big deal, just take your time troubleshooting and fix the problem. This most likely is going to be something minor.
