FD dies when trying to park

Hey guys, FD dies when your trying to park it or coming to a slow stop. It just slowly dies like it cant hold idle or something. I was told it might be the air idle control valve. What do y'all think. And how much would it cost to fix. Thanks

Is it an automatic?

If it's a manual, do you have the same problem whether it's in neutral or in gear?

A vacuum leak will cause it to idle higher, not lower.

I suggest you bring the car to the two FD experts in the Houston area, Chuck Westbrook and Kyle Krutilek. They know these cars inside and out, PM one or both of them----cewrx7r1 and twokrx7 are their s/n's I believe.

A few things to start checking first:

1. ISC (Idle speed control)
2. Clutch switch

The clutch switch feedback, along with other components, is used for idle control.

What exactly do you mean by 'vac line'? A stock FD has almost 100 of them.

a vacuum line or vacuum leak wouldn't do that, it would raise the idle or make it hunt, not make it die. I had the exact same problem with the clutch switch, when trying to move the car in a parking lot, it would die every time i would let the gas pedal go. It is really easy to check and it cost like 20$. Stop searching on the net and start removing that switch
