fan problem help!

hey I have a problem I can't figure out my fans are not coming on causeing my car temperature to go up I checked the fuse under the hood and it was fine I recently replaced it and it was working now they just don't come on. Could the thermostat have anything to do with it? Any suggestions will help. Thanks

You have oem ecu or pfc?
If you have pfc ecu can you read the temperature?
If you have oem ecu try to measure the resistant of temperature sensor on the ecu harness.

The fans aren't running at all? Not when the parking lights are on? Not when the A/C is on?

Unless you have the datalogit, I don't think the fans will operate any different than the stock system (i.e. come on at 221F / 105C). You can trick them to come on sooner by turning on your parking lights.

ya but last night they didn't come on and my lights were on. The only fuse is the one under the hood right? I'm just frustrated with my car I like driving it a lot. But would the thermostat have anything to do with it?

But you also have to correlate that with the temps:

When the relays come on:

* Relays 2 & 4 controlled by PCME, come on when temp reaches 221F.
* Relay 3 controlled by thermoswitch, comes on at 226F
* Relay 1 controlled by A/C switch.

How fan speed affected by relays:

* Off, none on
* Low speed comes on when relays 2 & 4 are active.
* Med speed comes on when 2 & 4 are on plus _either_ 3 or 1 comes on but not both
* High speed comes on when all are on.

Other facts:

* The fan controller can bypass the 226 thermoswitch and fake out the relays 2 & 4.
* Grounding the test lead _immediately_ turns on relay 3.
* When you ground the test lead then the fan controller waits 2 min and turns on 2 & 4.
* If the test lead grounded for 2 minutes before engine shutoff, relays 2,3,4 will be kept on.
The datalogit allows you to change when the fans come on with the PFC. IIRC, the fans work as stock unless changed with the datalogit. In that case, you would be subject to the above. So has the car gotten to 221F?

Wait a minute....you said you replaced the 60A fuse for the fans recently? Is that because it was blown? If so, then you likely have a short somewhere which is causing all your problems....kinda hard to diagnose via the internet.

The Body Electrical manual in the stickies has a set of diagnostic procedures. You will need a multimeter.

yes the fuse blew and I fixed it I'm going to run a few basic checks to see if it's a short does anyone know if there's a relay that also controls the fans besides that main fuse?

ok my fans work but only when i have the a/c compressor engaged and it dramatically drops my temp so it was definetly the fans. my temp is back to normal at 80-85 c even when im running it hard its kind of hard to believe how good my temperature is. does anyone know why it only works with the compressor on?
