interest in hard copy of FSM and others

Hey guys, Ive been playing around with the idea of making a hard copy of the FSM, electrical diagrams, etc, and if i did i was thinking about making a few extra copies and maybe selling them here on the forum at cost, if there was enough interest. just let me know if anybody would be interested or whatever. I have pretty much every manual from 79-95.

You can pick up used FD manuals for $80 or so - so you would probably have to come in significantly under that. Given the huge number of pages, is that even possible?

ill have to do some math, but it shouldnt be a problem, the paper and toner i can get for free, so i could probably do it for like 30-40 bucks if i used regular 3 ring binders it was just an idea i had thought id throw it out there

yea do you know how much you spent on supplies to do that? I just thought it might be cheaper if one person did it in bulk for everyone but it seems so far that theres not much of an interest so................... nvm

Well my work covered it we have a great copier If i had to do it at Kinko’s or something I’m not sure how much it would have cost, it's not a bad idea if you can get people in on it. Shipping the heavy binder might be a bit on the high side though.

I actually just did this..... it was over 1200 double sided pages!!! I sent the .pdf's to Office Max. It was about $70 with a company discount (not including clear pages and binders).

I sent in the FSM, Service bulletins, wiring diagram, body electrical, body electrical updates, and the service highlights.

It is quite a hefty stack of papers..... The FSM alone fit into two 2" binders, leaving out the Automatic transmission section.

I think the shop manual is only $80ish or so *new*, and comes with the wiring diagrams, body electrical manual, etc.

Really amazes me that so many FD owners don't have the real shop manual any more. Back in the day it was MANDATORY to own one.

The small shop manuals are printed on high quality paper, with nice fold out wiring diagrams, durable binding, etc. I've had mine for ages and it's still in excellent shape.

BTW, the PDF's of the shop manual are already pushing the copyright issue with the material - printing those PDF's and charging for it is REALLY pushing the copyright to the max.

I just wanna make it clear. I have absolutely no intention of selling them, I just wanted a hard copy. It is really a PITA to run in and get on the computer to look something up when your all greasy....
