just a word of caution. EVO 8/9 I/C's are efficient up to 400-420hp (on the ragged edge of tuning) if you have any qualms about making more than that in the future

Spend a little more, and try to make an OEM R34 GT-R Intercooler work as a V-Mount. Those intercoolers can support 500-600 horsepower, and are often left stock on most R34 GT-R Racecars due to their high efficiency. They are found used for around 300 - 400 + Shipping ***************************** If you don't mind if by chance your fins went flying off then go buy the ebay crap.

it seems you could easily have the end tanks modified to line up with the y-pipe and the intake

You're going to spend a ton of money modifying that, getting custom piping, getting a custom radiator, making custom brackets for the whole thing, custom radiator hoses, ducting, ast mount, etc... You can't just throw in an IC as a Vmount cause you got it for free, designing an entire Vmount system is HARD and EXPENSIVE. Plenty of people have done in it, including me, but it is not easy and will take a lot more time than you initially think.

I'd say, leave the car the way it is until you go single turbo.
