Time for some work, need suggestions
Ok, I drive a Stock 12A Series 2 First gen, only mods done so far are extractors and straight through exhaust (no cat), and a series 2 12A turbo Gearbox from japan.
these last few days i have been getting the first signs of the clutch wearing out, clutch slips going hard into 2nd instead of the rear wheels, i have had the car for 3 yrs, and done 100,000km since i have had it, and i have no idea how old the clutch was before i bought it.
Ok, my plan, Is to remove the engine, and install an enlightened flywheel at the same time as replacing the clutch, while the engine is out, i wish to do some mild bolt on performance mods, nothing too drastic, i still need relaiblity, i will get the radiator overhauled as well, and install electric fans to replace the mechanical. The air pump went the way of the dodo just after i bought it. The carby is Stock.
So far, mod plan is, Enlightened Flywheel, Decent Clutch, Electric fans.
is there anything ele i can do while the engine is out to help improve performance? i do not wish to touch the engine block assembly at all, so no porting etc.
what would you do??? (by the way, cost isnt an issue)

its an after market system, right through, the muffler is pretty quiet, i like the car to sound good but not attract attention. the exhaust is headers into a straight pipe, no cat or thermal box, and into the muffler.

I just had my trans serviced, the yreplaced the pilot bearing, thrust bearing, fron and rear seals, through out bearing and put in a new clutch for only 500.00. It is so smooth and quiet now.

Dude, don't pull the engine just to change the clutch. Just drop the box underneath and go from there.
Then jump over to www.ausrotary.com and search for the 'Stuber'. It's a modified nikki carb with some pretty good gains. There are a few people on there who have changed over and like the results.
A lightened flywheel is a good idea. A cold air intake is something you can do pretty cheap. An electric water pump to free up a few ponies.
That'd be a good start.
Oh, and remove all the emissions crap.
