Engine rpm's drop slowly

can anyone explain to what would cause the rpm's to drop very slowly when you let off of the gas peddle. tia

Is this something that you've just started to experience or did you drive a friends car and the throttle response is difference? Assuming everything is working correctly with your throttle, linkages, cables, etc......and the slow rpm drop is bothering you, it might be time for a lighten flywheel, assuming it is a 5sp manual transmission. If you have an automatic, something might be up with your tranny.

this is more than likely the culprit.

Check ALL components of your throttle body and see what has a lot of resistance and what sticks. Its a bit time consuming sometimes

Check the electrical connector on the firewall side of the throttle body. Make sure it is seated in there.
