engine question

i might be buying a 92 rx7, my question is the car has over 100k on the motor...dont rx motors burn out after this many miles, so i would pretty much be needing to buy a new motor??? how much can i pick up a motor for, and is it worth buying the car for 5grand....any help would be apreciated....thanks

Yes, it is worth buying the car for 5 grand. Yes, the engines generally do not last for 100K miles. A new engine will cost about $2K + install. Search for more info.

Calm down. Remember you're ASKING for help. We don't owe you anything and don't HAVE to help you. So lose the attitude. There are plenty of people willing to help here. People can't be online all the time and answer all the questions at the same time.

At 100K miles, the motor is due to blow anytime soon.
$5K is a good deal for an FD even w/ a blown motor. As long as the body is in good shape, it's a good buy.
A reman motor is $2K from Malloy Mazda.

A friend of mine has 120K on it and still running strong,his is NOT modified in any way thoug,and has never been overheated and abused.
But sure,for the money,if the rest is fine.....
