engine is getting rebuilt, should i do anything else while its apart?

my shortblock is currently getting rebuild... is there any mods you guys recomend while everything is apart?

so far i did the block off plates (do you guys recomend removing the double throttle?
looking to relocate the coils

as far as UIM, and LIM, should i be cleaning them or anything? i have a sand blaster ready available... should i clean out the internals? or dumb idea?

any suggestions?

Depends on what you want. Do you want to clean up the engine bay and parts? Change out all maintenance related items? Change anything to aftermarket? It really depends.

Get the motor ported out. You could also port match your UIM and LIM. Yes, remove the butterfly. Blocking all emisions would also simplify everything.

installing all block off plates
removing emissions
already resprayed the engine bay/ cleaned up chassis/ ***
painting UIM/LIM
installing secondaries
replacing hoses/vacuum lines...

anything else?

Are you removing double throttle? Remove it.
Relocate your coils as your first post.
Are you keeping the OMP system? I would recommend getting rid of that system and do pre-mix.

double throttle removed. what a PITA. dremeled the hell out of it.. screws were impossible to remove.

def relocating the coils.

omp... whats the benefit of removing it? ps i premix with the omp... overkill?

If the OMP fails(which eventually it will), there will be no lubrication in the rotor housings which will be costly. Just a safety precaution plus if you get a good quality premix people are saying it's a lot cleaner than using your used engine to lubricate.

if you remove all of emissions...will you fail emissions in tx? mostly harris county?
