engine cutting out!

need help becuase springs just around the corner and got to get her good enough to get tunned!

basically the car starts and idles fine but at about 2k , as soon as i rev it it just wants to die. if i let of it idles but if i continue to rev it it cuts out.
I have 550cc pri and 1600 cc sec w/ resistors and with all the fuel mods to support it. i have my fuel pres set at 30psi and when it starts it jumps to 40 and i cant turn it down or up.( even with the vacuum line off).

Also the motor was just rebuilt with a street port ( JR rotary) and i have gt35r turbo. i did all the blockoffs and havthe apexi power fc but no datalogit yet.

cant figure out whats causing this have searched and found no good answer. I have also tried the stock ecu and it does the same.

Any hel[p would be great!

How long ago you had the tune-up done, spark plugs or wires can cause the cut offs, also a bad ignition coil may cause it.

Sounds like your fuel pressure regulator is instaled backwards, inlet and outlet may be reversed since you can't adjust the pressure.

all the wires and plugs are new but the two coils do get really hot after only a short time running, could that be the problem?

I agree. I installed mine backwards,(reg came without instructions) and it ran the same as described. Also replaced primary coil this summer. The only time it affected the way it ran was under high boost levels

I think the only way to check the coils is to install new ones, not sure though...

No. coils can be checked for resistance. It is documented in the OEM service manual. I can't seem to find mine but you can find them at iluvmyrx7.com, free of charge.

A while ago my car wouldn't start, traced the problem to one of the coils. Did the resistance test and it passed but it was definitely dead, no spark and the plugs and wires were new. Replaced it and the car started up, so the resistance test can't always tell you the state of your coils.

I had a similar problem. It ended up being fuel pump relay. I accidentely removed it without disconnecting the battery, but then when i put it back i couldn't rev past 2k or so, it would just backfire and die. I rested the ecu and everythign was fine.

Ok, you are running the base map for the PFC?

I'm assuming the base map is expecting 850cc secondaries (in which case you are running 1600cc) as would be the case with the stock ECU. You are dumping in a TON more fuel than what it's expecting. Did you at least change the injector settings to 1500cc (since you need the Datalogit to go beyond that)?
