Engine code-Intake Air Temp Sensor

My check engine light came on, so I checked the code and found code 11, Intake Air Temperature Sensor. I'm not sure what to do about this and am wondering how serious it is. Anybody know what to do for this?

I recently got a street-ported Pettit rebuild (1500 mi ago). Also got the Pettit intake, PFS downpipe and PFS catback exhaust.

It's one of the primary inputs for the car. Either the sensor is bad or the wiring to it is bad.

It's on the under side of the upper intake manifold. Should be pretty easy to troubleshoot.

Hah - just noticed you're in Pensacola as well. I'd be happy to lend a hand.

I just worked on a car with a failed sensor, it was reading negative temperatures! Needless to say it was so pig rich that it would barely get into boost due to the rich misfire.

That could be my problem too, I run super rich, lots of black carbon buildup on the exhaust!

This sensor went out on my FD about 6 months ago. Caused my car to run **** rich, and even sent unburnt fuel into the mani. Needless to say my entire downpipe began to glow a steady orange at idle. Once I replaced the sensor, everything was great again. I think you can get them from Ray at Malloy for less than $40 if I remember correctly. You have to remove the UIM though to do this. Should only take you 15min if youve got the upper plenum off before.
