Engine choises for 93 rx7

Hey guys, I have a question for you all. I just bought a right hand drivien 93 Rx7, and I need an engine for it. The car is going to be used for Drift, so I could use some suggestions, and maybe some links too.

The Rx7 has been my dream car because they are Extremely rare in Canada, and there are no right hand drive ones, so please help me out guys.

Thanks

I understand the car came only with one engine, but is that the only engine that can be easily used?

well if you just have to have a new engine......go buy a 20b 3 rotor. it won't be cheap by any means, but it is a different engine.

personally, I would stay with the stock 13b it comes with. you don't need that much hp if you are just going to drift. maybe 350 at most. you can make that easily with the stock engine.

so, you can go the inexpensive route and upgrade the stock 13b or you can just do a 20b swap which will cost alot more. you can also do a ls1 swap, but I hate them so do whatever u like.

K, I have been convinced to go with the 13b, the problem is I live in Canada, and there aren't many places here to find them. My rx7 came with no engine in it at all, so if anyone knows where I can find a new 13b, that would be great, I want to try and stay away from rebuilds, but I guess that is an option too.

I hope you have some friends in high places, because a RHD FD is not legally allowed into Canada for any reason other than as a temporary race or show car until at least november of 2006.

With no current engine, you are better off looking for someone who is doing an LS1 or other swap. That way, you can get the engine and tranny for a decent price. While its aways a crap shoot whether or no the engine has good internals and compression, it would be the most inexpensive route to get started.

just curiuos...are you another ricer? you want it cus it's rare and so you can drift in it. not only that you got one that's rhd.

anyways...just use a chevy small block, ford small block, or SR20...just whatever you want man...and if you want to drift an FD with a 13b rew there is no possible way that you don't need a rebuild.

you sure you can handle an FD?

You mean "the v8 retains its 50/50 distribution and only gains 20lbs total in the car"

Its been proven 1 million times on here.

You've have been much better off trying to tell him it was lame or wrong or something. Arguing against technical merits would only make you lose the arguement :o
