Emergency help with spark plug wires *Please help*

Alright I just got done installing the wires and we double checked EVERYTHING.

We also put on a good amouint of electrical grease on the wires, wire boot, and inside of the wires and also on the silver connectors as well.

When I went to start it up, it sounded more rough than before and my idle was twitching up n down. Then all of a sudden smoke started to come out from underneath the throttle body!!

ANY help is good

The smoke color was whitish, almost seems like there was a little bit of blue in it as well. and it also had this distinct smell.

Could be mis firing?

Please help as I am doing this right now.

Check your MAP sensor hose. The sensor itself is located on the firewall right near the TB.

This is a common problem, if it has fallen off it'll run just like you describe. Well except smoke coming out from under the TB.

I don't know if you might have over done it on the grease, or if thats possible. I just put a small bead of it around the inside edge of the boot, to keep moister out and to keep the boot from drying on the post. Have to ask did you use the correct grease. (Dielectric).

Yes it was the Di-Electric packets that were sold at the auto stores.

I figured out the smoke and it was from my exhaust underneath the car coming from the pipes (that's another story)

But yeah my friend thinks it could be a misfire and also my idle was much more rougher than normal.

Does anyone have a diagram of where exactly the wires go from the top to the bottom for the factory blue/black wires?

Thanks all.

We have checked and rechecked all hoses. The smoke thing is something else not related to the wires.

Idle is more rougher than normal and that bothered me a lot. I think it could be also running rich.

Here's a pic of what I think the diagram SHOULD look like for stock wires:

The wires you have hooked up (in your drawing) are the trailling wires and plugs, they are correct though. You just need to hook up the leading wires to the leading plugs, which are just a few inches below the the trailing plugs.

leading plugs don't matter...just make sure that they go to the bottom plugs.

Not to beat a dead horse, but make sure your map sensor hose is going to the correct nipple on the throttle body (or does it go on the UIM?). There was a guy on here a while ago who was having map sensor related problems, and swore it was hooked up correctly. After like a week of trying everything, he found out he had the map sensor hose hooked up to the wrong place.

Also, what kind of wires did you use? I changed my wires about a month ago, and bought those cheapo wires from Advance Autoparts, and they were so shitty they wouldn't even stay on the coils. I ended up returning them and ordering Mazda wires from Mazdaformance.

I had the rough idle, barely running problem when I put new wires in. Turns out I knocked the little hose off the boost sensor on the firewall behind the throttle body. Tiny vaccuum hose that comes straight out the bottom. Since then I put a zip tie on it to hold it a bit better, apparently the hose fit too loose because that zip tie also fixed a cold-weather start-up idle problem I had.
